The #1 ranked Moncton Wildcats fell to the #11 ranked Saint John Sea Dogs in overtime.
The Sea Dogs saw two goals from 2026 NHL Draft prospect centerman William Yared, as the 2024 fifth overall pick climbs to seven points (5+2) across 14 games to start his rookie season. Overage defenseman Matteo Mann -- who was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the seventh round pick in 2023 -- ended up potting the game winner in overtime. A big reason for their win was the 33-save performance of off-season acquisition Charles-Edward Gravel, whose .920 save percentage across 11 games puts him fourth among QMJHL goalies who have played more than 10 games.
As for the Wildcats, they threw 35 shots on net -- 10 more than the Sea Dogs -- and either matched or outshot Saint John in each period.
With a night's best 2134 fans in the stands, the Armada scored the first two goals as they tried to spoil Halloween for those in attendance. In spite of the trick, Chicoutimi centerman Felix Gagnon gave the fans quite a treat as he would help the Saguenéens score the next three to beat the Armada in a tight matchup. Gagnon would pot the first two and assist on the game winner, which was scored by 2025 NHL draft eligible defenseman Jonathan Prud'homme.
Even though the Armada are going home empty handed, top 2025 NHL draft prospect Justin Carbonneau was able to snag two 'candied' apples.
