

Armada forward Egor Goriunov (Photo: Sebastien Gervais)Just a few days after Drummondville's goaltender Riley Mercer signed with the AHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, the Montreal Canadiens' system have plucked a player of their own from the QMJHL.
Forward Egor Goriunov has signed with the Laval Rocket of the AHL, starting in 2025/26.
Goriunov, 21, had 69 points (33+36) across 54 games between the Charlottetown Islanders and the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada as an overager this season.
Throughout his four year QMJHL career, the Russian winger tallied 182 points (97+85) across 247 games between the Armada, the Islanders and firstly the Victoriaville Tigres -- where he spent his first three seasons.
