Halifax has added another American to their roster, signing recent draft pick Jackson Smail for next season.
The Halifax Mooseheads have been a team adding talent this summer, and have made another step in that direction on Tuesday.
The team announced the signing of American forward Jackson Smail, adding a second player from the U.S. after last week's addition of free agent Brady Smith.
Smail, 18, was selected 44th overall in this year's QMJHL draft. He played last season in the Massachusetts prep school system, scoring 62 (30+32) points in 34 games for The Winchedon School.
The Milton, VT, native will now join a Moose team looking to be competitive next season, led by stars including recent trade acquisition Mateo Nobert and import Oleg Kulebiakin.
Smail is committed to join the University of Vermont, with the 5-foot-10 centre currently expected to head the NCAA route for the 2027-28 campaign.
