The Moncton Wildcats have been busy this off-season as they look to completely overhaul the team after their run to a placement in the Memorial Cup last season.

Firstly, they were able to secure two of their three CHL import picks from this year in Ottawa Senators defensive prospect Eerik Wallenius and fellow blueliner Carl-Otto Magnusson.

Wallenius, 19, is coming off of a 22-point season (4+18) through 39 games in the Finnish under-20s league. He also played five games in the top flight league, Liiga, going pointless through that span with HPK. Wallenius was selected in the fifth round (136th overall) by the Sens in the 2024 NHL draft.

Magnusson, 19, played 44 games last season in Swedish juniors, posting eight points (3+5). He also iced in three games in the Swedish Hockey League with Frolunda HC, netting zero points. Magnusson will be one of the tallest players in the QMJHL next season standing at 6-foot-7.

However, the Wildcats did not stop there as they secured San Jose Sharks prospect Teddy Mutryn a sign and trade and Detroit Red Wings prospect Grayden Robertson-Palmer.

Mutryn, 19, was signed out of the USHL where he potted 30 points (17+13) over 47 games with the Chicago Steel. Mutryn's signing rights were acquired by the Wildcats via the Val-d'Or Foreurs in exchange for a third and a ninth round pick. Mutryn was selected in the third round (95th overall) by the Sharks in the 2025 NHL draft and is committed to Boston College in 2026-27.

Robertson-Palmer, 17, is fresh off of a 39-point (16+23), 30-game campaign with the Phillips Academy Andover high school prep team, which he captained. Robertson-Palmer was taken in the seventh round by the Red Wings in 2025, and is expected to join Dartmouth College in 2026-27.

Other signings of note include 2026 NHL draft eligibles D Tommy Bleyl (North Dakota) and G Jacoby Weiner (Harvard) and 19-year-old forward Niko Tournas (New Hampshire), who finished fourth in NAHL scoring with 74 points (39+35) through 56 games.
