Despite being recently dealt from the Rimouski Océanic to the Val-d'Or Foreurs, Mael St-Denis has seemingly departed the QMJHL to commit to Clarkson Golden Knights of the NCAA.
St-Denis, 20, had 41 points (22+19) through 54 games with the Océanic last season, while wearing an 'A'.
The former 10th overall pick has amassed 136 points (86+86) through 228 games in the QMJHL, all with Rimouski.

St-Denis is just one of the very few QMJHL players to leave the league early, joining Chicago Blackhawks prospect Julius Sumpf (Moncton -> Providence) and Anaheim Ducks prospect Alexandre Blais (Rimouski -> UConn). among notables.
