The Northeastern commit played a couple of games with the team last year, and now joins full-time.
The Chicoutimi Saguenéens have officially announced the signing of American forward Owen McHale, who will join the team immediately for the remainder of the season.
McHale, 18, was a 10th-round pick of the Sags in the 2025 QMJHL draft. He joined the team for a week last season, appearing in two games, but played the rest of the year with Dexter Southfield in the New England prep school circuit.
This year, the Charlestown, MA, native started out with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders of the USHL, scoring a goal in six games.

The Sags currently sit eighth in the Eastern conference with a 6-7-0 record through 13 games. It's been a rebuilding year after a QMJHL title and run to the Memorial Cup semifinal last year.
Recently, they sent overage starting goalie Raphael Precourt to Victoriaville in a big trade, one that signifies a full rebuilding year.
While McHale shouldn't be expected to be any form of superstar, he should be a solid contributing forward to a team that may move some of their top 19-year-olds in Nathan Lecompte and Mathis Dufour before the trade deadline in January.
McHale is committed to join Northeastern University of the NCAA following his junior career.
