Hartl will join the team after starting the season in the Czech league.
The Chicoutimi Saguenéens continue to touch up their roster as they continue a rebuilding season, announcing the signing of Czech import forward Michal Hartl on Tuesday.
Hartl, 17, was the team's first-round pick in this year's import draft. After being a key piece of the Czech team at this year's Hlinka-Gretzky Cup, he started the season splitting time between the HC Kometa Brno U20 and first team.
In seven games at the U20 level, he recorded 10 (3+7) points, while he scored once in 10 Extraliga games.
Now, he makes the mid-season jump to North America, joining a Sags squad still rebuilding after last season's trip to the Memorial Cup. Despite trading starting goalie Raphael Precourt to Victoriaville in October, the team is still treading water in the standings, currently sporting an 8-7-0 record.
The team also officially signed American forward Owen McHale last week, and now with Hartl have another new addition to the forward group.
Hartl will join the team as its third import, joining goaltender Patriks Plumins and injured blueliner Damir Aptikashev.
