Just two days after Voltigeurs star forward Sam Oliver had announced his commitment to the University of New Hampshire, the Voltigeurs have picked up his fellow UNH commit in Jesse Allecia.
Allecia, 19, has spent the season with the Alberni Valley Bulldogs of the BCHL, scoring 10 points (4+6) across 20 games this season.
Allecia is just the third US-born player to make the move to the QMJHL after the allowance of major junior players to remain NCAA eligible earlier this month, following Charlottetown's Jude Herron and Quebec's Alex Perreault.
He joins the team as an undrafted free agent, and will depart the Voltigeurs next season as he joins new teammate Sam Oliver in New Hampshire for the 2025-26 season.
In the meantime, Allecia will look to help the No. 1 Voltigeurs on their quest to repeat last season's QMJHL win and redeeming their shortcomings in the Memorial Cup.
