With the Medicine Hat Tigers on their way to Quebec to compete in the 2025 Memorial Cup, now is a good time to reflect on the series that was between Medicine Hat and the Spokane Chiefs. A memorable five-game series, the Tigers closed things out on the road and did so in relatively dominant fashion.

Game One, MH Wins 4-1:
Opening the series in Medicine Hat, the home team made short work of opening the scoring. A returning Cayden Lindstrom and Andrew Basha combined on the series' first goal, and from there it was all Medicine Hat. The Chiefs were able to get a late goal and break up the shutout bid for Harrison Meneghin, but it was too little too late as the Tigers skate away with an early series lead.
Game Two, SPO Wins 6-2:
A return to form for Spokane, as this one tilted significantly more in the road side's favor. Just to switch things up a bit, it was Basha opening the game from Lindstrom at the same time as game one: just 55 seconds in. The difference, though, was that the Chiefs offence had started to click. Four goals in just under five minutes to close out the first period, and while Bryce Pickford got Medicine Hat back on the board, Spokane netted two more to split the first two games on the road.
Game Three, MH Wins 6-0:
Not to be denied a shutout a second time, Meneghin shut the door on 28 Spokane shots while the team in front of him threw 45 toward goaltenders Dawson Cowan and Carter Esler. With things getting rough near the end, and several game misconducts handed out, it was to be expected that the Chiefs were not going down quietly in game four.
Game Four, MH Wins 5-2:
Unfortunately for Spokane, the Tigers would continue their suffocating ways and remain on top of the series. The two teams traded goals less than 60 seconds into game four, but Pickford had other plans; the 18-year-old potted two goals, and Liam Ruck added a third to help put the game away. Shea Van Olm got the Chiefs' second goal, late in the second, but Hunter St. Martin answered back and that's how the game would stand.
Game Five, MH Wins 4-2:
The deciding game of the series surprisingly didn't see its first goal until about halfway through the second period. Not only that, it came from an unlikely customer: Tigers defender Niilopekka Muhonen. With his first of the playoffs under his belt, Medicine Hat went to work following his lead. Gavin McKenna tallied his ninth of the post-season, and less than a minute later Hunter St. Martin padded the lead with a controversial goal. Spokane was able to bring the game within one courtesy , but St. Martin added an empty netter to seal the championship.
Playoffs MVP: Harrison Meneghin
Next, we look forward to meeting the Tigers' opposition at the 2025 Memorial Cup.
