Everett Silvertips 3, Portland Winterhawks 2 (OT)
Everett Leads Series 1-0
Portland entered the home of the WHL's regular season champions and gave them all they could handle, but came up just short in game one. The Winterhawks opened the scoring with Tyson Jugnauth and a five hole shot from distance, but Everett responded with one goal each from Tarin Smith and Austin Roest. Portland tied the game at two a piece lat in the third, but Jesse Heslop was able to seal the decision for the SIlvertips and take a series lead heading into game two.
