The Medicine Hat Tigers continued their winning ways on Monday as they defeated the Moncton Wildcats 3-1, improving to 2-0 at the 2025 Memorial Cup. Ryder Ritchie scored twice and added an assist, while Gavin McKenna iced the game late in the third with an empty-net goal. As for Harrison Meneghin, he had a strong performance, stopping 21 of the 22 shots he faced.

Medicine Hat put together an impressive performance from start to finish. The Tigers ended the night with a 41-22 shots advantage, and were able to cash in twice on the man advantage. The WHL Champions also went perfect on the penalty kill, allowing just two shots on two opportunities while shorthanded.

The big story of the game was Ritchie, who led the way with three points. The Minnesota Wild prospect also posted a game-high eight shots, with four registering as dangerous. Through two games, Ritchie has been one of the Tigers' best players and is a major reason why they are perfect so far in the Memorial Cup.

Lastly, Medicine Hat won this game because they refused to take its foot off the gas. The Tigers recorded at least 11 shots in each period and were able to limit Moncton's ability to create momentum. Ultimately, Medicine Hat was impressive at both ends of the ice, as they received a full-team effort against the Wildcats.
