The Victoria Royals acquire an NHL prospect and the Calgary Hitmen continue building for a playoff push.
Two major deals took place Thursday afternoon, as just two days into January 2025 fans are already treated to some player movement.
Saskatoon Blades acquire F Tanner Scott, two draft picks for F Brandon Lisowsky and a 2028 fifth round pick
Lisowsky, a seventh-round selection of the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2023, currently has 22 goals and 21 assists in just 29 games for Saskatoon. The 2004-born forward sits in fourth place among all-time Blades goal scorers, with 143 in his 256 games as a member of the blue and yellow.
In return, Saskatoon receives Tanner Scott: A 20-year-old forward with 16 points in 25 games with Victoria this season, and a member of the Royals leadership group as an assistant in the 2023-24 campaign. Scott is also committed to Bowling Green University for 2025-26. Additionally, the Blades acquire a second-round pick in 2025 and 2026.
Calgary Hitmen acquire G Daniel Hauser for F Maxim Muranov, two draft picks and two prospects
The Wenatchee Wild part ways with career goaltender Daniel Hauser, who made 151 appearances in the WHL with Wenatchee over five seasons (formerly Winnipeg ICE). Hauser finishes his career as a member of the Wild with a .908 save percentage and a 2.21 goals against average.
Going the other way is forward Maxim Muranov, who has totaled 116 points in 210 games with the Hitmen. The Russian forward is in the midst of a career year, tallying eight goals and 17 assists in 34 games this season.
Wenatchee also receives a 2026 third-round pick, a 2027 second-round pick, and the WHL rights to two players: Forward Mason Moe ('07, USNTDP U18) and goaltender Mark Djomo ('09, Dallas Stars U16 AAA)
