The German forward was able to get himself on the scoresheet in his third WHL game, and first on the road.

After seven scoreless games to begin his season in his home country of Germany, Düsseldorf native David Lewandowski has his first goal in the Western Hockey League.

Saskatoon did not get the start they wanted against the Oil Kings, admitting that the first 20 minutes were on the slower side, but business quickly picked up for the Blades. Over the course of the remaining 40 minutes, they would go on to score five unanswered goals and take a final score of 6-2 inside Rogers Place, securing a fourth straight victory.

Lewandowski, in a post game interview, was more concerned with the result than his milestone. "It's amazing to score a goal, but in the end, it just mattered that we won and we got the two points."

The young forward also commented on his experience in Canada so far: "It's not easy but the team has helped me out. My billet family has been awesome, we have another player that lives with us too. It's been pretty good."

The 2007-born German is eligible for the 2025 NHL Entry Draft, as he looks to build off the first few games in the WHL and acclimate himself to North American hockey.

As for Saskatoon, they move on to Red Deer to face the Rebels on Saturday at the Peavey Mart Centrium.
