After an impressive campaign, the Everett Silvertips have won the Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy for the 2024-25 season. The annual award is given to the WHL's regular-season champions and ensures home-ice advantage for the entire playoffs. This is the second time that Everett has won the award, with the first coming during the 2006-07.
The Silvertips have had a campaign to remember. They will be the only team this season to hit 100 points and have only accumulated 46 wins in 66 games. Not only has Everett been a dominating team offensively with 269 goals scored, but their 176 goals against is tied for the lowest this season.
One of the big reasons why the Silvertips captured the Scotty Munro Trophy is their depth. While Carter Bear and Landon DuPont will grab the headlines, players like Domink Rymon, Tyler MacKenzie, Tarin Smith, Julius Miettinen, Eric Jamieson, Jesse Heslop and Kaden Hammell have all played key roles this season. Everett also received a massive boost at the trade deadline as Austin Roest returned from the AHL to join the team for the postseason.
Everett will begin their postseason run on March 28 at 7:05 pm PT. The Silvertips will be looking for their first WHL Championship in franchise history and third berth in the Final. While their opponent is not officially set, Everett will open the playoffs either against the Seattle Thunderbirds or the Wenatchee Wild.
