The Edmonton Oilers have selected Tommy Lafreniere 83rd overall in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. The 18-year-old was the 17th WHLer selected and fourth of the third round. Listed at 6'0", 174 lbs, the Quebec native had himself a solid first full season with the Blazers.
Lafreniere surprised many upon his first full run in the WHL, after four points in his nine-game rookie campaign. The Blazers forward posted a respectable 24 goals and 32 assists in 68games, good for fourth in Kamloops behind now-fellow draft picks Nathan Behm and Emmitt Finnie.
