Week 2 of the 2024-25 WHL season featured plenty of memorable moments. From high-scoring games to overtime thrillers, the past week showed that it's not just the stars that can put up impressive performances. With this in mind, here is one standout from each division from Week 2.

    Nathan Behm- Kamloops Blazers

What a start to the season for Kamloops Blazers forward Nathan Behm. The 17-year-old scored a hat trick and added an assist against the Seattle Thunderbirds while recording a goal and an assist one night later against the Victoria Royals. Behm also fired eight shots on goal while recording a plus/minus of +1. If Behm can keep up this production, he could see his name rocket up draft boards ahead of the 2025 NHL Draft.

    Tarin Smith- Everett Silvertips

Tarin Smith made his presence felt in his first two games of the season. The Everett Silvertips defenceman and Anaheim Ducks prospect had a goal and three assists against the Portland Winterhawks and followed it up with an assist and five shots on goal against the Kelowna Rockets. Currently tied for second in points by a defender in the WHL, Smith should remain at the top of the leaderboard throughout the year.

    Brayden Edwards- Lethbridge Hurricanes

Brayden Edwards stepped up massively for the Lethbridge Hurricanes this weekend. He recorded a goal and three assists against the Swift Current Broncos while finishing up the weekend with an assist against the Calgary Hitmen. Edwards also went 19 for 36 in the faceoff dot, finishing the weekend with a 52.8 win percentage. Now in his final WHL season, Edwards looks ready to set a new career-high once again and help the Hurricanes go on a long playoff run this year.

    Marcus Nguyen- Brandon Wheat Kings

Lastly, Marcus Nguyen had a successful weekend with back-to-back two-point outings for the Brandon Wheat Kings. The overager scored twice against the Prince Albert Raiders before posting a goal and an assist against the Saskatoon Blades the next night. Now up to six points on the season, Nguyen is fitting in nicely to the Wheat Kings lineup and should be a consistent contributor throughout the campaign.
