The Dallas Stars have selected Cameron Schmidt 94th overall in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. The 18-year-old was the 19th WHLer selected and sixth of the third round. Listed at 5'8", 161 lbs, the undersized winger finished eighth among all WHL skaters in goals during the 2024-25 season.
Schmidt cracked the 40-goal plateau this season, after a 31-goal year in 2023-24. The Giants forward played a substantial role in the 2025 World U18 Championships, and posted nine points in five playoff games.
