The 2025 Hlinka Gretzky Cup continued on Tuesday with Team Canada, Sweden, Finland and Slovakia skating away with victories. Overall, there were a handful of strong performances, with WHLers leaving their mark on Day 2. Here is a look at Mathis Preston, Ryan Lin and Shaeffer Gordon-Carroll, who all played key roles on Tuesday.

    Mathis Preston, Team Canada

Preston had a game to remember during Canada's 9-1 victory over Switzerland. The Spokane Chiefs forward recorded a hat trick, with all three of his goals coming in the third period. Now with four points in two games, Preston is showing why some draft experts expect him to be a top-10 pick next June.

    Ryan Lin, Team Canada

Lin continues to shine on Canada's blue line. For the second straight game, the Vancouver Giants defenceman recorded a goal and an assist, putting him at four points through two games. Despite Canada's deep defensive group, Lin has found a way to be a standout in both games, showing why he is a top prospect for the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.

    Shaeffer Gordon-Carroll, Team USA

Gordon-Carroll was impressive during Team USA's 5-3 loss to Sweden. The Medicine Hat Tigers forward scored his first of the tournament, as he was able intercept a clearing attempt and beat the Swedish goaltender high blocker side. With points in back to back games, Gordon-Carroll has become a valuable piece of Team USA's top six.
