Welcome to this edition of the 2025 WHL Prospect Pools. Throughout the 2025 off-season, we will be taking a look at current or recently graduated WHLers who have either been drafted or signed by NHL clubs. Today's organization is the Philadelphia Flyers, which has three WHLers in its prospect pool.

The Flyers added two WHLers to their organization during the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. Philadelphia selected Red Deer Rebels forward Matthew Gard in the second round before drafting his teammate, defenceman Luke Vlooswyk, in the fifth round. As for the third prospect, that would be Brandon Wheat Kings goaltender Carson Bjarnason, whom the Flyers selected 51st overall in 2023.

Starting with Bjarnason, he recently wrapped up his fourth WHL season. The 20-year-old recorded at least 20 wins for the third-straight season, and now has 75 in 156 career regular-season games. Listed at 6'4", 207 lbs, Bjarnason will be headed to the AHL next year to start his pro career.

As for Gard, he had a successful second season with the Rebels. The 18-year-old recorded 36 points in 66 games and won Gold with Canada at the U18s. Listed at 6'5", 194 lbs, Gard is projected to be Red Deer's top line center in 2025-26.

Lastly, Vlooswyk was impressive during his rookie WHL campaign. The 18-year-old scored three times while recording 17 points in 68 games. Listed at 6'5", 201 lbs, Vlooswyk is a hard-hitting defender who should play big minutes for the Rebels this season.
