    Welcome to this edition of the 2025 WHL Prospect Pools. Throughout the 2025 off-season, we will be taking a look at current or recently graduated WHLers who have either been drafted or signed by NHL clubs. Today's organization is the New York Islanders, which has one WHLers in its prospect pool. 

    The Islanders added one WHLer to their organization during the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. In the sixth round, New York selected Vancouver Giants goaltender Burke Hood, who became a starter this season. Overall, the Islanders have quite a few WHL alums in their organization, including Mathew Barzal, Daylan Kuefler, Ryan Pulock and Ethan Bear. 

    Burke had a successful rookie campaign with the Giants last season. The 18-year-old finished with a 19-13-6 record along with a save percentage of .910. Listed at 6'4", 203 lbs, Burke is projected to be Vancouver's starter again next year.
