Welcome to this edition of the 2025 WHL Prospect Pools. Throughout the 2025 off-season, we will be taking a look at current or recently graduated WHLers who have either been drafted or signed by NHL clubs. Today's organization is the St. Louis Blues, which has four WHLers in its prospect pool.
While the Blues didn't add any prospects in 2025, they still have some talented WHLers in their system. In 2023, they selected one WHLer, drafting Kelowna Rockets forward Jakub Stancl 106th overall. As for 2024, St. Louis selected Edmonton Oil Kings forward Adam Jecho, Prince Albert Raiders forward Tomas Mrsic and Spokane Chiefs defenceman Will McIsaac.
Starting with Stancl, he had a successful rookie campaign in the WHL. The 20-year-old recorded 57 points in 58 games while also representing Czechia at the 2025 World Juniors. Listed at 6'3", 198 lbs, Stancl will be heading to the AHL next season.
Moving to the 2024 draft, Jecho has been a key part of Edmonton's roster the last two seasons. The 19-year-old recorded 53 points in 56 games last year and was also part of Team Czechia's 2025 World Juniors team. Listed at 6'5", 201 lbs, it will not be surprising if Jecho makes the jump to pro next year.
Up next is Mrsic, who had a significant impact in Prince Albert last season. The 19-year-old set new career highs, scoring 33 goals and recording 90 points in 65 games. Listed at 6'0", 174 lbs, Mrsic has committed to Colorado College for 2025-26.
Last up is the McIsaac, who is the only defenceman on the list. The 19-year-old had 37 points in 66 games while helping the Chiefs make it all the way to the WHL Final. Listed at 6'3", 201 lbs, McIsaac is projected to return to the WHL next season.
