One of the newest NCAA Division I programs is set to welcome a gigantic recruiting class. It's an attempt to have St. Thomas turn the corner as the program went 3-24-1 in conference play this season.

It's understandable considering much of the Tommies veteran core came from the NCAA Division III program. This year however, St. Thomas is set to add prominent commits including Minnesota's Ms. Hockey Ella Bourger.

While it's unrealistic to expect this youth movement to immediately equate to wins, the incoming group should provide hope that St. Thomas will soon be challenging the top schools in the WCHA.

Here's a look at the 2023-2024 St. Thomas women's hockey recruiting class.

Ella Boerger, F, 2004 - When you look at the list of former Minnesota Ms. Hockey winners, a list that includes Taylor Heise, Grace Zumwinkle, and Hannah Brandt, it's easy to immediately place Boerger in elite company. A power forward who can also play a finesse game, Boerger had 41 goals and 78 points in 29 games while captaining the Andover Huskies.

Rylee Bart, F, 2004 - When you look at Bart's eye-popping stats, it's hard not to get excited to see how it translates to the NCAA. She played at the smaller Warroad being named to the Class 1A All-State team after scoring 59 goals and 107 points in only 30 games. They're ridiculous numbers, and Bart may take time to adapt to stronger competition, but there's no denying her talent.

Ellah Hause, D, 2005 - Hause plays with an active stick and is always ready to turn the puck up ice and join the rush. She played a depth role with Team USA's U-18 national team at the 2022 World Championships, but was a standout at Hill-Murray School in Minnesota scoring 19 goals and 44 points in 23 games from the blueline. They're impressive numbers for a blueliner, who will be counted upon heavily in the future for St. Thomas.

Keira Parker from RINK Academy in Kelowna could be another difference making recruit, while the school is also adding Laine DeVries, Madison Brown, Abby Garvin, Maddy Helmstetter, and Cara Sajevic to their monstrous 2023-2024 women's hockey recruiting class.
