Denver now holds the all-time professional women's hockey attendance record for a game on American soil. 14,018 fans packed into Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado to watch the PWHL Takeover Tour stop between the Minnesota Frost and Montreal Victoire.

Detroit set the record last season drawing 13,736 fans to their Takeover game between the Boston Fleet and Ottawa Charge.

It's the second large crowd in the USA this month after Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle to saw 12,608 fans attend a 3-2 shootout win by the Boston Fleet over the Montreal Victoire.

Only three days ago, the PWHL drew 19,038 fans to a sold out game at Rogers Arena in Vancouver. It was the largest crowd for a hockey game this season at Rogers Arena, including the NHL's Vancouver Canucks who have yet to break the 19,000 mark this season.

The PWHL Takeover Tour this season holds more importance for markets as they attempt to show the PWHL there is interest in potential franchises. The league stated late in 2024 that expansion is planned in time for the 2025-26 season for as many as two new teams.

Currently the PWHL is a six team loop with teams in Boston, New York, Minnesota, Ottawa, Toronto, and Montreal.

The 2025 PWHL Takeover Tour has already stopped in Seattle, Vancouver, and Denver, and also has upcoming stops in Edmonton, Quebec City, Raleigh, Detroit, Buffalo, and St. Louis.
