In a defensive match up, the Boston Fleet won their fifth straight game beating the New York Sirens 1-0 score on Thursday night at Prudential Center.
Boston’s Aerin Frankel was the star stopping all 23 shots she faced for her fourth shutout in 13 games played this season.
At the other end of the ice, New York's Kayle Osborne was also strong turning aside 21 of 22 shots. The only blemish for New York came off a juicy turnover by Sarah Fillier, who passed the puck from her own corner directly onto the tape of a waiting Ella Huber in the slot, who made no mistake beating Osborne for the games lone goal.
“We just stick together. We have a goalie that stands on her head and we all know our systems," said Ella Huber following the win. "We know what it takes to come out with the win, so it’s no surprise.”
New York and Boston both announced significant attendance milestones prior to the game with the team's selling out Madison Square Garden in New York and TD Garden in Boston for upcoming games. The game at Madison Square Garden will break the standing American attendance record which has been broken three times already this season in Seattle, Washington, and again in Seattle last week for a sold out game at Climate Pledge Arena.
