    PWHL Draft Profile: Sarah Fillier

Sarah Fillier is one of the best scorers in the game, and a capable two-way player. She'll be a top pick, if not the top pick in the 2024 PWHL Draft.

Sarah Fillier is the possible first overall pick for the upcoming PWHL Draft. Watch some highlight goals from her NCAA season.

Getting a player who can center your first line for the next decade is a pretty tempting option. That player could be Sarah Fillier. She can also shift to the wing and play a scoring role.

Fillier has a wicked shot and has thrived internationally. Her game should transfer well to the PWHL, and there's simply no team she wouldn't make better, instantly.

Playing for Princeton this year, Filler had 30 goals and 43 points in 29 games.

Fillier has spent the majority of the season as The Hockey News' number one prospect for the upcoming PWHL Draft given her well rounded game and history as an impact player in both the NCAA and with Canada's national team.

"(The No. 1 ranking) means a lot," Fillier said during an interview with The Hockey News earlier this season. "It's a testament to the work put in at Princeton every day with the girls surrounding me and helping me get better. It's a matter of me continuing to grow my game and not be satisfied with my accomplishments over the past couple of years."

Fillier is not only a goal scorer, she's defensively conscious, which is a requirement for success in the pro game.

"I like to play a complete 200-foot game," Fillier said. "I know I'm relied upon in a lot of special situations. I try to play a really good and strong defensive game, be tough to play against and hopefully elevate all the players around me."

Fillier is not guaranteed to go first overall with other top prospects like Hannah Bilka, Cayla Barnes, and Danielle Serdachny knocking on the door, but wherever she goes, whenever she goes, and whatever position she plays, the team that selects Sarah Fillier in the PWHL Draft will be immediately better.
