Following four days of online voting, the PWHPA and their new PWHLPA voted to ratify a first of its kind collective bargaining agreement. The "first of its kind" moniker being touted is being applied because the new professional women's hockey league will be the first professional league in North America to have a collective bargaining agreement in place before a league is founded.

Within that CBA, financial terms for contracts have been outlined, although negotiations with ownership following the acquisition of the PHF, remain fluid in terms of final numbers.

As previously reported, contracts will range from a league minimum of $35,000 to a maximum $80,000. These are the terms, according to sources, that are still being discussed. Many players coming from the PHF were slated to make well above this maximum salary and will now be force to take significant pay cuts. Those players include Daryl Watts, who would take at least a $70,000 cut from her $150,000 contract and Kennedy Marchment who will take at least a $50,000 cut from her $130,000 deal, among others.

Within the CBA, The Athletic has reported that salaries will increase by 3% each year, and that teams will sign no fewer than six players to guaranteed three-year, $80,000 contracts. Also, no more than nine players per team will be allowed to make the league minimum.

Compensation bonuses will also be available, according to The Athletic.

Although PHF members were not able to vote on the new CBA, any player from the PHF who joins the new league will be entered into the PWHLPA union and governed by the same rules in the CBA.
