Two-time AHL All-Star Charles Hudon has signed a contract with the SHL's Djurgårdens IF, per Expressen's Johan Svensson.

Hudon finished fifth in the AHL in scoring last season with 20 goals and 64 points in 67 games with the Ontario Reign.

He has already played one season in Europe, recording 32 points in 33 games with Lausanne HC in the Swiss NL in 2020-21.

The 31-year-old sits 188th on the AHL all-time scoring list with 426 points in 503 games split between the Hamilton Bulldogs, St. John's IceCaps, Laval Rocket, Syracuse Crunch, Colorado Eagles, and Ontario Reign.

A native of Alma, Que., Hudon was named to the AHL All-Rookie Team and All-Star Game in 2014-15 and to the All-Star Game in 2019-20.

A fifth round pick of the Montreal Canadiens in 2012, Hudon recorded 14 goals and 41 points in 134 career NHL games with the Canadiens and Colorado Avalanche.

We have mentioned it repeatedly but Hudon is another victim of the AHL's veteran rule and joins a growing list of players that includes Mike Vecchione, Chase Priskie, Joey Keane, Kieffer Bellows, and Noel Hoefenmayer who have departed the AHL for Europe this off-season.
