Game day 4 began on Saturday with six games. Among them, Färjestad became the first team to four wins, with Zurich having a chance to match them on Sunday. Lausanne HC, Oceláři Třinec, Genève-Servette, the Växjö Lakers and the Fischtown Pinguins from Bremerhaven all improved their playoff chances with regulation victories as well.

Tappara Tampere (FIN) 4 – Färjestad Karlstad (SWE) 6

In a game with wild momentum shifts, Färjestad went up 3-0 early in the second period, then saw Tappara come back to tie it with three goals in a 3:24 span, but recovered to win its fourth straight game. Special teams were huge in this game, with four power-play goals, one shorthanded, and both teams taking advantage of the CHL rules by scoring twice on the same power play.

Joel Kellman, Joakim Nygård, Jonathan Andersson, August Tornberg and Oskar Steen all had two points for Färjestad. Kristian Tanus had three points in a losing cause for Tappara, a team on the bubble with five points overall.

    Fehérvár AV19 (HUN) 1 – Lausanne HC (SUI) 3

This defensive game remained scoreless until Damien Riat scored a power-play goal for Lausanne late in the second period. The game remained close until an empty-netter in the dying seconds, giving Lausanne its third win in four tries, while Fehérvár is still searching for a win.

    Oceláři Třinec (CZE) 7 – Fribourg-Gottéron (SUI) 3

This was a much-needed victory for the five-time reigning Czech champs, who had just five points from their first three games. This game was tied midway through the third period but Třinec scored three in a span of 4:21 to break it open. Michal Teplý and Petr Sikora each had three points in a winning cause.

    Genève-Servette (SUI) 4 – Ilves Tampere (FIN) 3

The defending CHL champions scored a power-play and shorthanded goal in the first period and led 4-1 into the last three minutes before two late Ilves goals made it interesting. Michal Špaček and Josh Jooris had three points each for Genève, who now have six points. Ilves is in trouble with two.

Storhamar Dragons (NOR) 1 – Växjö Lakers (SWE) 4

This game was 1-1 midway through, but Joachim Blichfeld scored the eventual game-winner in the last minute of the second period and the visiting Lakers pulled away in the third. Blichfeld finished the game with two goals and an assist, and the regulation win gives Växjö 10 points, while Storhamar stays at three, below the playoff cut-off line.

Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven (GER) 4 – Rouen Dragons (FRA) 2

Rouen led 2-1 after two periods but, like Färjestad earlier in the night, Bremerhaven scored two goals on the same power play early in the third to tie the score and take the lead. Jan Urbas had two goals and an assist for the victors in the final period. The Pinguins now have nine points, while the Dragons still don't have any.
