
Each local NHL chapter of the Professional Hockey Writers Association chose the 32 nominees for this year's Masterton Trophy for perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication.

The first 32 nominees in this year's NHL awards season have been revealed.
On Friday morning, the Professional Hockey Writers Association announced a player on each NHL team nominated for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy. The award goes to the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to the game each year.
Each local NHL chapter of the PHWA nominates a player for the Masterton Trophy. Three players are expected to be named finalists during the playoffs, and the winner will be announced at the NHL awards ceremony in late June, as voted on by the PHWA.
