This Bruins forward rightfully has been nominated for the Bill Masterton Trophy.
The 2023-24 Bill Masterton Trophy nominees have been announced. For the Boston Bruins, forward Danton Heinen will be going up for the award.
When noting that the Masterton Trophy is given to the player who exemplifies perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to the game of hockey, it is not surprising at all that Heinen has earned this nomination for the B's.
Heinen has been a feel-good story for the Bruins all season. The 28-year-old notably had to earn a contract with the Bruins through a successful tryout. Since then, he has not only been a regular in their lineup but also one of their most impactful contributors.

Heinen has played quite well for the Bruins this season, posting 16 goals, 34 points, and a plus-14 rating in 69 games. He has provided them with quality secondary scoring and has spent time on their top line because of his all-around solid play.
At the end of the day, Heinen has provided the Bruins with far more than they could have imagined, and he has done it through his hard work ethic. Let's see if he lands the Masterton this year because of it.
