This Lightning forward has been rightfully nominated for the Bill Masterton Trophy.
The 2023-24 Bill Masterton Trophy nominees have been announced for each NHL club. For the Tampa Bay Lightning, forward Mikey Eyssimont has been nominated for the award by the Tampa Bay chapter of the PWHA.
When noting that this award is given to a player who exemplifies perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to the game of hockey, it is hard to argue against Eyssimont's nomination. He is one of the hardest-working players on the Bolts.
Eyssimont, 27, was acquired by the Lightning last season from the San Jose Sharks. Since then, he has emerged as a solid part of their bottom six. However, he has quietly had a breakout season for the Bolts this campaign, which is quite impressive when noting that he is in his late 20s.

Eyssimont has set new career highs with 11 goals, 12 assists, and 23 points in 75 games. Along with that, he has provided them with a plethora of physicality and grit, posting 99 penalty minutes and 122 hits thus far.
Eyssimont worked incredibly hard to become a full-time NHL player, and he has earned it this season. Let's see if he ends up winning the Masterton from here.
