Bruins forward Trent Frederic continues to generate trade chatter. If the Original Six club makes him available, these three teams could be in the mix.

NHL insider Elliotte Friedman recently reported that Boston Bruins forward Trent Frederic is generating plenty of interest in the trade market. With Frederic being in the final season of his contract, it is fair to wonder if the Bruins could part ways with him if they can't come to terms on an extension by the deadline. 

With this, let's discuss three specific clubs that could look to acquire Frederic now. 

St. Louis Blues 

The St. Louis Blues have been connected to Frederic, which makes sense. The Blues are looking to be more competitive, as they notably acquired defenseman Cam Fowler earlier this week. With their middle six needing a boost, a hard-nosed winger like Frederic could interest them immensely.

Frederic is also a St. Louis native, so it is fair to wonder if he would be open to becoming a Blue. Thus, they are a real club to watch if the Bruins seriously shop Frederic. 

New York Rangers 

The New York Rangers are struggling big time. They have lost three straight games and seven out of their last ten. This is shocking for a team that was viewed as a legitimate contender heading into the season. Because of this, the Rangers have already begun retooling their roster. With the Rangers looking to make changes, a player like Frederic could grab their attention. 

Frederic would give the Rangers a new look in their top nine while forwards like Chris Kreider and Kaapo Kakko are available. 

Dallas Stars 

The Dallas Stars are expected to be on the hunt for forward help nearing the deadline, especially with Tyler Seguin out long-term. Thus, they could be a team to watch regarding Frederic. 

The Stars could use a gritty forward like Frederic in their bottom six for the post-season. His ability to play on the wing and down the middle could also interest the Stars.
