Jake DeBrusk and Charlie Coyle were The Hockey News picks for the mid-season Selke Trophy.

The Boston Bruins are not known for possessing the strongest prospect pool. This is understandable, as they have traded away multiple first-round picks over the last several years during their contender window.

While this is the case, the Bruins do have some exciting prospects who have the potential to become NHL players later down the road. One of them is forward Oskar Jellvik.

Jellvik, 21, was selected by the Bruins with the 149th overall pick in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. Given how well Jellvik has been developing in the NCAA with Boston College, this is a selection that GM Don Sweeney must be happy about right now.

After posting four goals and 17 points in 34 games as a freshman in 2022-23, Jellvik had an excellent season with BC in 2023-24, recording new career highs with 13 goals, 29 assists, and 42 points in 41 games. This is a significant improvement in offensive production, and he should be on the radar of Bruins fans.

The 2024-25 season will be big for Jellvik. After producing more than a point per game this past season, he will look to take another step forward this upcoming campaign. If he does, it would be surprising if he signs his first professional contract at the end of BC's season.

Nevertheless, if Jellvik continues to improve, he could eventually be a valuable member of the Bruins' roster. Let's see what kind of season he puts together for BC in 2024-25.
