The Bruins have set a new franchise record.
During the 2022-23 season, the Boston Bruins set an array of NHL records during their magical regular-season run. They most notably picked up an NHL record 65 wins, and that is a feat that may never be reached again.
While the Bruins are nowhere as dominant as last season, they still managed to set a new team record with their 3-2 shootout win over the Washington Capitals last night. With this win, they have secured their sixth straight 100-point season, which is the longest streak in their franchise's history (minimum of 70 games played). It is also the third-longest streak in NHL history.
It took the Bruins 75 games to reach 100 points, posting a 43-17-15 record over that span. While they certainly have struggled with closing out games and in overtime, they are still once again one of the top teams in the league, as this new team record effectively displays.
Overall, the Bruins have been one of the most consistent regular-season teams over the last several years. Now, it's time to translate that success into the playoffs.
