Brad Marchand has let his thoughts be known on Sam Bennett's punch.

Brad Marchand has let his thoughts be known on Sam Bennett's punch.

Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand has been sidelined since the third period of Game 3. The superstar forward was notably punched in the head by Florida Panthers forward Sam Bennett and suffered an upper-body injury. The NHL elected not to give Bennett any sort of discipline for the play.

Marchand has stayed pretty quiet about the play since it happened, but that has now changed. No. 63 was asked after practice if he thought Bennett's hit was a cheap shot. Here's what he said on the matter:

"He plays hard. He's an extremely physical player. Great player for the group. I think he got away with a shot, but I'm not gonna complain. S**t happens. That's part of [the game], especially playoff hockey. I've been on the other side of a lot of plays. I think he got away with one, but, I mean, that's part of the game. Definitely a part of playoff hockey. Sucks to be on the other side of it, but, you know, that stuff happens. I'm not going to sit and complain about it. That's part of the game. But yeah, I think he got away with one. But it is what it is."

When looking at the play, it is fair to say that Marchand is correct. There is no question that Bennett got away with a dirty play. However, the Bruins captain has also made it clear that he isn't dwelling on it.

Now, the Bruins will be hoping to get their revenge by successfully coming back from their 3-1 series deficit and winning the series. Game 6 is Friday night at TD Garden.
