Heading into Game 4 between the Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers, there was an expectation that the two Atlantic Division rivals would play a physical game. So far, it has not failed to live up to that expectation.
Just 14 seconds into the game, Boston Bruins star defenseman Charlie McAvoy landed a massive hit on Florida Panthers star Sam Reinhart. McAvoy caught Reinhart with his head down and took advantage of the grand opportunity.
McAvoy's hit was so hard that he lost his stick on the play.
With Brad Marchand getting injured after a clear punch from Panthers forward Sam Bennett in Game 3, many anticipated that the Bruins would make Game 4 hard for Florida's top players. McAvoy sent that message immediately, setting the tone for the first period.
The Bruins will now look to build off their momentum from here.
