This Panthers star stirred the pot with Brad Marchand.
Game 2 was a nightmare for the Boston Bruins, as they fell to the Florida Panthers by a 6-1 final score. While this loss was embarrassing for the Bruins, all they can do from here is try to redeem themselves in Game 3 at TD Garden.
Tension between the Bruins and the Panthers went up significantly in this matchup. The two Atlantic Division clubs played a very chippy game, and the fight between David Pastrnak and Matthew Tkachuk was the highlight of the contest. However, there was another memorable moment from this tilt.
After scoring a shorthanded goal and giving the Panthers a 6-1 lead, Panthers defenseman Brandon Montour screamed right in Bruins captain Brad Marchand's face. From there, a scrum naturally occurred between the two clubs.
Montour then mocked Marchand by pretending to lick him. Marchand, of course, became infamous for licking opponents during the late 2010s. However, after memorably doing so to former NHLer Ryan Callahan, the star winger was warned by the NHL to stop or he would face discipline.
It will now be interesting to see how Marchand and the rest of the Bruins respond in Game 3. Clearly, tempers are rising between the two teams. The Bruins must bounce back from here.
