Leading up to the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline, the Boston Bruins were among several clubs linked to Jason Zucker. However, they were not the team that landed him, as the Nashville Predators acquired him from the Arizona Coyotes.

When noting that Bruins GM Don Sweeney had Zucker on his radar this season, it is certainly possible that the Original Six club will target him again this offseason if he hits the market on July 1. This is especially true when noting that Zucker's next deal will certainly be cheaper than his $5.3 million cap hit from this season.

The Bruins will likely be on the hunt for middle-six help this summer. They have several forwards with expired deals heading into the offseason, with Jake DeBrusk, Danton Heinen, James van Riemsdyk, and Pat Maroon all having the potential to hit the market. Thus, the Bruins could be in a prime position to add a player like Zucker.

If the Bruins signed Zucker, he would be an excellent addition to their middle six, as he provides solid secondary production and grit to go along with it. In addition, he would give them another option for their power play because of his offensive skill.

Zucker, 32, appeared in 69 games this season, posting 14 goals, 32 points, and 98 hits. It wasn't a bad year for the 5-foot-11 winger, but he has the potential to produce more with better support around him. Keep in mind, he had 27 goals and 48 points in 78 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins back in 2022-23. He also had a whopping 197 hits that year.
