This former Bruins forward is likely preparing for a fresh start.

During his two-year stint with the Boston Bruins, Tomas Nosek was a decent fourth-line center who worked on the penalty kill. This was especially the case during his second season with the club in 2022-23, as he had seven goals, 18 points, and a plus-9 rating in 66 games.

As a result, when the New Jersey Devils signed him to a one-year, $1 million deal last offseason, it was a move that looked good on paper. However, the 2023-24 season did not treat Nosek kindly.
Nosek dealt with injury trouble throughout the season, as he was limited to only 36 games on the year. When healthy, things also went poorly for the 31-year-old. He did not record his first point until his 22nd game of the year, which was the Devils' 66th game. He finished the season with two goals, four assists, and a minus-11 rating in 36 games.
After a tough season, it seems likely that the Devils will let Nosek walk. The fit was just not there in New Jersey for Nosek this season. If he does hit the market, it will be intriguing to see how big his market is. While it was a disappointing season, he could still have some suitors, as he is an experienced fourth-liner who plays well defensively and is good at the dot.
