Bruins Get Concerning Update Regarding Leafs Superstar

Could the Bruins deal with this Maple Leafs superstar in Game 7?

Jake DeBrusk and Charlie Coyle were The Hockey News picks for the mid-season Selke Trophy.

The Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs are set to play Game 7 tonight (May 4). A loss will not only end the Bruins' season but also make them record chokers. They would be the first team in NHL, MLB, and NBA history to blow a 3-1 series lead in back-to-back seasons.

The Maple Leafs have all the momentum heading into Game 7 and will look to build on it.

But will superstar center Auston Matthews be back for the matchup? Given today's events, it certainly seems possible. Matthews joined the Maple Leafs at their morning skate ahead of Game 7.

While this does not guarantee that Matthews will play in Game 7, it certainly is a promising sign for the Maple Leafs. Having their superstar practice with the group is massive, and it will now be very interesting to see if he gets the green light to play in a "win or go home" Game 7.

Matthews being back in the lineup for the Bruins would be far less than ideal, as he is the NHL's top goal scorer. With the Bruins' offense being anemic right now, the Leafs getting a massive boost with a Matthews return would be brutal.

We will now need to wait and see what happens with Matthews from here, but this is a clear storyline to pay attention to.
