The Bruins should consider making a push for this Predators forward.

The Boston Bruins are gearing up for what should be an eventful 2024 NHL Trade Deadline. Given their shaky play as of late, the expectation is that they will look to make some additions to their group by March 8.

While former big-name trade targets like Elias Lindholm and Sean Monahan found their new homes earlier this season, it would still not hurt for the Bruins to browse the market for help down the middle. The Nashville Predators have a pretty intriguing option in Tommy Novak.

Novak, 26, has generated some chatter in the rumor mill. It is understandable, as he is a pending UFA on a retooling Predators team that could be sellers at the deadline. With that, he has a highly affordable $800,000 cap hit, which adds to his appeal as a rental for a team with limited cap space like Boston.

If the Bruins added Novak, he would provide their middle six with a big boost for the final portion of the season. While he is not necessarily a star, he has shown since last season that he produces well offensively at the NHL level. Along with that, he would be a fit for the Bruins' second power-play unit because of his high offensive IQ.

In 50 games this season with Nashville, Novak has 12 goals to go along with 32 points.
