Two notable players the Boston Bruins have been linked to leading up to the 2026 NHL trade deadline could be coming off the board.
According to TSN's Darren Dreger, the Buffalo Sabres and St. Louis Blues are finalizing a trade centering around Colton Parayko.
Parayko is not the only Bruins target who could be on the move, as Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported that the Utah Mammoth are finalizing a deal with the Calgary Flames for defenseman MacKenzie Weegar.
Both Parayko and Weegar have no-trade clauses, so they will need to give the green light before these trades come to fruition.
If the Sabres officially acquire Parayko, the Bruins would need to deal with him in the Atlantic Division. This would not be ideal, as the Sabres are one of the teams that the Bruins are trying to catch in the standings, and Parayko would undoubtedly make Buffalo's blueline better if they landed him.
As for Weegar, he is another defenseman who would have the potential to boost the Bruins' top four in a big way. However, if he ends up accepting this trade to Utah, he will officially no longer be an option for the Bruins.
It will be interesting to see if these reported trades end up going down. If they do, the Bruins will need to explore their options for blueline help elsewhere.
