Jeremy Swayman was simply sensational against the Maple Leafs.

Jake DeBrusk and Charlie Coyle were The Hockey News picks for the mid-season Selke Trophy.

Crisis averted.

The Boston Bruins came inches away from being the first team in all major North American sports to lose a series where they had a 3-1 lead in back-to-back years. However, in the end, the Bruins stepped up in Game 7 and defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs by a 2-1 in overtime. David Pastrnak heard Jim Montgomery's message after Game 6 and got the winner.

While the Bruins came close to blowing their series against the Maple Leafs, goaltender Jeremy Swayman was never the reason to blame. The Alaska native was excellent in all six of his appearances during the series and rightfully won the Bruins' crease (at least, for now) because of it.

Swayman ended the series with a 4-2 record, a 1.49 GAA, and a .950 SV%. Those numbers are remarkable, especially for the playoffs, and it has put Swayman in elite company because of it.

Swayman is just the second goalie in Bruins history to record a .950 SV% or better in a playoff series. Bruins legend Tim Thomas is the only other goalie to have done this for the Original Six club. In the 2011 Stanley Cup Final against the Vancouver Canucks, Thomas had a .967 SV%.

Seeing Swayman accomplish something that only Thomas has done is honestly incredible. It effectively displays how marvelous Swayman performed for the Bruins. They owe him big time.
