Elias Lindholm's first season with the Boston Bruins has not gone according to plan for the 30-year-old forward. After signing a seven-year, $54.25 million contract with the Original Six club this past off-season, he has 17 goals and 46 points. While these offensive totals are not bad, they are below what was expected from the veteran.
However, while Lindholm has struggled like most of his teammates this season, he is ending the season on a high note. He is heating up offensively in a noticeable way, posting four goals, eight points, and a plus-10 rating over his last six contests. This includes scoring a goal and recording an assist in the Bruins' most recent matchup against the Pittsburgh Penguins on April 13.
Throughout this hot streak, Lindholm has shown that he can work on a line with David Pastrnak and Morgan Geekie. This is notable for the 2013 first-round pick, as he has now reclaimed the Bruins' first-line center spot because of his strong play.
If Lindholm carries over this kind of offense to next season, it would help the Bruins' chances of bouncing back in 2025-26. It will be fascinating to see if Lindholm can make an impact in the Bruins' season finale against the New Jersey Devils on April 15 from here.
