The Boston Bruins have made their decision with Fabian Lysell.

Jake DeBrusk and Charlie Coyle were The Hockey News picks for the mid-season Selke Trophy.

The Boston Bruins announced today (Sept. 29) that top prospect Fabian Lysell was cut from the club’s training camp roster. With this, Lysell did not make the NHL roster and will rejoin the Providence Bruins.

Seeing Lysell go back to Providence so early in the pre-season is, truthfully, a bit shocking. After a quiet first pre-season game, he was one of the Bruins’ most noticeable players in his next two contests. He also scored a great goal against the Washington Capitals. However, it just wasn’t enough for him to make it to the NHL.

We will now need to wait and see what other roster moves the Bruins make before the start of the season. In addition, it will be intriguing to see how Lysell responds to being cut.
