The Boston Bruins defeated the Detroit Red Wings by a 2-1 final score on Saturday night (Nov. 23). With this, they have won back-to-back games since Joe Sacco has taken over as head coach.
Bruins goalie Jeremy Swayman was a significant reason for the win. The Anchorage, Alaska native put together a strong performance, saving 19 out of 20 shots he faced. A start like this was undoubtedly needed when noting how much he had struggled before this appearance.
Before this matchup against the Red Wings, Swayman allowed 12 goals in his previous two starts. In addition, he gave up 20 goals in his last five starts. Thus, Swayman was due for a strong game, and he provided the Bruins with just that.
