NHL insider Chris Johnston released his latest NHL trade board for The Athletic. Without much surprise, pending unrestricted free agent Trent Frederic made the cut at the No. 11 spot. However, he is not the only Boston Bruins player on Johnston's list.

Bruins captain Brad Marchand is surprisingly at the No. 10 spot on Johnston's latest trade board. Here is what the NHL insider had to say on the matter:

"This is not a player we expected to find on the Big Board, even if he’s currently playing out the final year on his contract. But as a league source noted this week, "I don't think anyone in Boston thought this is where they'd be at." If the decision to replace Jim Montgomery with Joe Sacco behind the Bruins bench doesn’t produce the desired results, some difficult personnel decisions will almost certainly follow."

Marchand is currently in the final season of his contract and has an eight-team no-trade list. If the Bruins are out of the playoff race near the deadline and Marchand still does not have an extension, he certainly could draw interest.

But would the Bruins actually consider trading Marchand? I'd personally be surprised, given how massive of a player he is to the franchise.

Marchand has played in 21 games this season with the Bruins, where he has five goals, 14 points, and a minus-3 rating.
