The Boston Bruins blew up their roster at the 2025 NHL trade deadline after disappointing big time this campaign. The Bruins traded away several former core players, with forward Charlie Coyle being among them.

Coyle was dealt along with a 2026 fifth-round pick to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for forward Casey Mittelstadt, prospect William Zellers, and a 2025 second-round pick. With the Avalanche having Stanley Cup aspirations and needing help down the middle, it made sense that they brought in a veteran with plenty of playoff experience like Coyle.

Coyle's start with the Avalanche was undoubtedly underwhelming, as he had just two assists in his first 13 games. However, now that he is more adjusted to his new team, the Weymouth, Massachusetts native has been playing some excellent hockey.

Coyle ended the regular-season with a six-game point streak for the Avalanche and simply dominated in the process. Over that span, the 6-foot-3 center recorded two goals and 10 points. With this, he is entering the playoffs red-hot for the Avalanche and will now look to build off it from here.

Coyle showed during the 2023-24 season with the Bruins that he can be an offensive threat when playing at his best. During that campaign, the 2010 first-round pick set new career highs with 25 goals and 60 points in 82 games. Now, he is starting to show off that side of his game more again, which is great news for the Avalanche.

In 452 games with the Bruins over seven seasons, Coyle had 96 goals, 134 assists, 230 points, and a plus-10 rating. He also had 18 goals and 37 points in 75 playoff games for the Bruins.
