This former Boston Bruins forward is generating plenty of interest.

Former Boston Bruins forward James van Riemsdyk is among the top free agents still without a contract for the 2024-25 season. However, it appears that he is on the verge of at least securing a professional tryout (PTO) agreement from an NHL club.
According to NHL insider Chris Johnston, van Riemsdyk is generating interest from multiple teams and is expected to land a PTO before the start of NHL training camps.
Hearing that van Riemsdyk is starting to garner serious interest around the NHL is not surprising in the slightest. He is one of the top free agents still without a home, and he showed last season with the Bruins that he can still provide decent secondary offensive production in a top-nine role.
van Riemsdyk, 35, had 11 goals, 38 points, and a plus-7 rating in 71 games for the Bruins last season. Overall, the Middletown Township, New Jersey native put up some solid numbers, even after finishing the season with a serious cold streak.

Teams looking for more depth at the left wing should certainly have JVR on their radar. While he may not be the same top-six option during his prime, he is still a solid veteran top-nine forward at this juncture of his career.
It will be fascinating to see which team ends up landing van Riemsdyk on a PTO from here.
