This former Bruins star is heating up big time.

The New Jersey Devils have had a strong start to the season. At this juncture, they have a 10-5-2 record and are at the top of the Metropolitan Division.
A big reason for the Devils' success has been the play of former Boston Bruins star defenseman Dougie Hamilton. The Toronto, Ontario native has taken his game to a new level as of late.

Hamilton is on fire right now, posting eight points over his last six games. In addition, he has 12 points over his last 11 contests. That is excellent offensive production from a defenseman, and it is benefitting the Devils.
Hamilton began his career with the Bruins when the Original Six club selected him with the ninth overall of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. In three seasons as a Bruin from 2012-13 to 2014-15, he had 22 goals, 83 points, 238 hits, and a plus-23 rating.
